In 1963 James Aubrey PETRIE, a farmer, was living at Ivy Lodge. These postcards were addressed to his aunt, Jean Gertrude PETRIE, and were from three Sefton School classmates - Mary WILSON, Lancelot McGOWAN and Jessie McGOWAN c1909-1910. Jean was the grand-daughter of Robert PETRIE Snr who came from Glamis, Forfarshire, Scotland and settled at Woodend, Canterbury c1860.


Genealogy
Alexander PETRIE was born 1863 at Woodend, Canterbury, the son of Robert PETRIE and Betsy nee STARK. He married Kate DERBRIDGE at St Barnabas, Woodend on 08 August 1888. There were six children:

Alexander John PETRIE (1889-1958) m 1916 Emilie WILSON - they had a son - James Aubrey PETRIE
Charles Derbridge PETRIE (1891-1966)
Elizabeth Stark PETRIE (1893-1924) m 1915 Charles COOK
Jean Gertrude PETRIE (1895-1984) m 1920 Daniel Lancelot McGOWAN
